Big Funky Blues Fest to Rock Garrett County Fairgrounds on July 13
1 Day, 8 Bands, Tons of Vendors, Fun for the Whole Family!
Garrett County, MD – Get ready for an unforgettable day of music, fun, and community spirit at the second annual Big Funky Blues Fest! Scheduled for Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Garrett County Fairgrounds, this highly anticipated event promises a full day of entertainment and activities for all ages.
Brought to you by the fine folks from OMG Relax, a local relaxing gift shop, and Medical Breakthrough massage spa, the Big Funky Blues Fest will feature an incredible lineup of eight bands performing throughout the day. Festival-goers can expect a dynamic range of blues styles, from classic to contemporary, each band bringing its unique flair to the stage. “Hambone Wilson, Billy Price Band, Tommy Lepson, Don’t Tell Suzie, The Boneshakers, Music Cafe Tribute, Deanna Bogart, and Paul Reed Smith’s Eightlock Band will all perform. We bring in the best of the best,” said event organizer Randy Anderson. “These groups are beyond talented, and our headliner this year is Paul Reed Smith, who is world famous for his guitars.”
This year’s event will not only showcase amazing music but also support a worthy cause. A portion of each ticket sale will benefit Appalachian Crossroads, a local non-profit that empowers individuals with disabilities through community living, employment support, and day services, helping them lead lives full of meaning and inclusivity.
“Building on last year, we really went crazy for the kids zone this year,” said Chris Anderson – fellow organizer and Randy’s wife. “We think that when mom and dad are free to enjoy the music, they can relax and let loose. So, we hired staff to watch kids in our Kids Zone to ensure that younger visitors have plenty to enjoy.”
Activities include a game truck loaded with video games, face painting for creative expressions, balloons, and magic shows to captivate imaginations, and various craft stations. The Kids Zone is thoughtfully designed to provide a fun and engaging environment for children, making the festival a family-friendly event. Additionally, families can enjoy ax throwing, glass blowing, and blacksmithing demonstrations.
Attendees can explore booths set up by local crafters and artisans surrounding the main stage. It’s a great opportunity to discover unique handmade items and support local businesses. Take a stroll to the food court, where a variety of delicious food and dessert options await. There will also be beer and wine available provided by the Lions Club and a wide selection of non-alcoholic beverages or mocktails. To ensure a comfortable experience, attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and/or blankets. Pop-up canopies are permitted but must be set up in designated areas. As with any outdoor festival, come prepared for a day under the sun.

● Pets are not permitted on the fairgrounds.
