The Garrett Community Concert Band will present its holiday concert, A Winter’s Journey: Sounds of the Season, on Sunday, December 7, at 3:00 PM in the Daniel Offutt III Theatre at the Performing Arts Center at Garrett College. The band, under the direction of Dr. Sean Beachy, will perform
a variety of music focusing on the way we travel during the holiday season. Selections include a newer work called Toboggan, Troika from Prokofiev’s Lt. Kije Suite, and a version of Over the River and Through the Woods titled A Winter’s Journey.

There will also be classic holiday pieces, including Victor Herbert’s March of the Toys, Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride, and Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. In addition, you will hear traditional carols including Angels We Have Heard on High, I Saw Three Ships, and He Is Born, as well as a medley of traditional Hannukah songs. We hope you will join us to usher in the holiday season!

The Garrett Community Concert Band is supported in part by the Maryland State Arts Council and the Garrett County Arts Council. Tickets are available online and at the door.

Prices are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for those age 5 and under. This community band includes about 40 musicians of all ages and walks of life, from middle school students to retirees in their 80s. The band was formed in the summer of 2000 and donates annual scholarships at their July 3rd Broadford Lake Park performance.
