A zine (pronounced “zeen”) is a small, self-published booklet or magazine, short for “fanzine,” featuring original or appropriated text and images, typically copied cheaply for a small, non-commercial audience.
Zines cover diverse topics from personal stories (perzines) and art to fandom (fanzines) and political activism, offering an alternative to mainstream publishing for sharing niche interests and experiences.
