December 2025 Issue

Dear Friends,

December always feels a little different in that traditions force me into a slower rhythm, even if just for a few moments. I always look forward to Christmas lights!

This month, we are honoring husband and wife, Paul and Tracy Browning, for their decades of dedication to Oakland’s Christmas celebrations and the spirit behind it. If you have not made it yet, make sure you see the light show at the Oakland Community Center this year! There are over 150,000 lights synced to a musical production.

There is plenty happening beyond Christmas too, as many families celebrate other holidays throughout the season. And if the weather behaves the way it is predicted, the first part of December may bring a cold snap that Wisp Resort will be watching closely.

We might just see an early-season opening if the conditions hold.
