Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, Cumberland. Inspired by the run-away hit movie, this holiday favorite comes to life for you and your family take a ride on The Polar Express. Set to the music of the motion picture soundtrack, families will love their trip to the North Pole, complete with hot chocolate and cookies served on board the train. Passengers will enjoy singing, dancing and a reading of The Polar Express. Upon arrival at the North Pole, Santa will present the first gift of Christmas. On the return trip, everyone will receive a silver sleigh bell, heard by all those who BELIEVE. The joy of caroling and holiday entertainment will surely become an annual tradition for the whole family. We encourage you to wear your favorite pajamas and join in on the magic. Festival of Trees 2019 — Garrett County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall. Friday, Nov. 29, open 9 AM to 5 PM: Breakfast with Santa at 9 and 10 AM; Saturday open 9 – 4: Breakfast with Santa at 9 and 10 AM. Grand finale live auction starts at 6 PM, doors open at 5. Join us for Garrett County’s holiday kick-off event! For the past 11 years, this affordable family event has become a tradition for locals and visitors in the area. Benefitting the Dove Center, Garrett County’s domestic violence and sexual assault services program. General admission is $5 per person, breakfast with Santa is $10 per person and includes admission. Tree Lighting — Honi-Honi Bar, 7 PM. Join us for our annual Tree Lighting at 7 PM on the lawn at UNO and the Honi-Honi. Santa will be on hand for pictures and to collect those Christmas gift requests. Stick around at 8 for live entertainment. Free admission.

LEGO Robotics: SuGO Sunday – Come and build Sumo Wrestling Robots using LEGO MINDSTORMS. SuGO teams form at 1 PM, build until 3:30 PM. NO experience is necessary. All equipment is provided, and help is available. At 3:30, teams move to the arena and the SuGO bots battle it out tournament style. Light refreshments are available for purchase.
