“12 Angry Jurors” Adapted by Sherman L. Sergel — The Barn at Ridgeview Valley, 7:30 PM. A Theatre on the Lake production. A 19 year old man has just stood trial for the fatal stabbing of his father. Each juror reveals his or her own character as the various testimonies are re-examined, the murder is re-enacted and a new murder threat is born before their eyes. Little Yough Summer Music Festival — Featuring Crandall Creek. Mountain Fresh Pavilion, Oakland, 7 PM. This annual festival showcases singers/songwriters from across the country and displays a variety of different genres and musical styles. Concerts begin at 7 PM. Food is available for purchase but feel free to bring your own picnic or bottle of wine. Bring your chairs and blankets and relax for a night of music under the summer skies. LEGO Robotics: SuGO Sunday – Come and build Sumo Wrestling Robots using LEGO MINDSTORMS. SuGO teams form at 1 PM, build until 3:30 PM. NO experience is necessary. All equipment is provided, and help is available. At 3:30, teams move to the arena and the SuGO bots battle it out tournament style. Light refreshments are available for purchase. The Seldom Scene — The Main Lodge at Wisp Resort, 6 PM. The Seldom Scene is an American bluegrass band formed in 1971 in Bethesda, MD. The Scene has been instrumental in starting the progressive bluegrass movement as their shows include bluegrass versions of country music, rock and even pop. What does it take for a bluegrass band to remain popular for more than four decades? For The Seldom Scene, it’s taken not only talented musicians, a signature sound, and a solid repertoire, but also a sheer sense of fun. 6 – 8 Farm Camp 2019 — Backbone Farm, Oakland, MD, 10 AM to 4 PM daily, for ages 6 to 8 years old. All Earth Eco Tours hosts an on-the-farm, summer day camp for kids ages 6 – 8. Campers will experience the wonders of nature through farming, fun and artistic expression. Campers can expect to get their hands dirty as they learn what it’s like to be an organic farmer, having fun and learning about growing vegetables, sustainable agriculture, the benefits of humane livestock management, mycology and basic animal husbandry.
