TOTL presents “The Hunting of the Snark by Cooper and Wigoder” — The Barn at Ridgeview Valley, 7 PM. The talented group of Theatre on the Lake (TOTL) presents the impossible voyage of an improbable crew to hunt an imaginary creature in this sparkling musical comedy adventure for all ages. Enter the imaginative world of “Alice in Wonderland” creator, Lewis Carroll, in this brand new, highly original, ultra modern adaptation inspired by his beloved classic poem. This show features five high-energy actors, a life-like puppet, fantastical characters, and lashings of daft humor. Little Yough Summer Music Festival — Featuring the Steve Smith Band. Mountain Fresh Pavilion, Oakland, 7 PM. This annual festival showcases singers/songwriters from across the country and displays a variety of different genres and musical styles. Concerts begin at 7 PM. Food is available for purchase but feel free to bring your own picnic or bottle of wine. Bring your chairs and blankets and relax for a night of music under the summer skies. Art in the Park — Deep Creek Lake State ParK, 10 AM – 5 PM Saturday; 10 AM to 4 PM Sunday. This is a juried art event with 50+ vendors displaying their original artwork and fine crafts. Food vendors are on site as well as kids interpretive events, tie dye, live animals and a kids art project sponsored by the Garrett Arts Council. $3 per person in state or $5.00 person out of state. Deep Creek Volunteer Company’s 7th Annual Golf Tournament — Oakland Golf Course, 10 AM to 6 PM. Tournament proceeds benefit the Deep Creek Volunteer Fire Company and will be used to help fund the additions to the existing fire hall. Become a sponsor or register to play. Join 100 golfers of all skill levels. Entry fee is $75 per individual player. The tournament will be played as 2 Person Scramble with a shot gun start. Saturday Morning Artist Demos – The Gallery Shop, Oakland, 10:30 – Noon. Come in and see one of the Gallery Shop’s artists at work! Chat about techniques, ask questions, and get to know one of our artisans. Today’s artist will be Carolyn Groves demonstrating Tatting. Free admission. Mt. Top Saddle Club Horse Show — Garrett County Fair Grounds, 8 AM. Offers competition classes for riders of all ages/experience, in both English and western riding and games classes. $6/class entry fee, $10/horse ground fee. MTSC membership not required.
