June 2025 Issue

Dear Friends,

Throughout the 34 years I have been publishing The Lake-Front, we have seen many changes, the largest being the death of my husband and business partner, the beloved Skip Around Town. Since then, I’ve been blessed with the talents (and strong backs) of Collen DuBose and Michael Fratz, and their help has been invaluable. Now we’ve decided to expand our team even further and welcome Sarah Myers to the fold. Sarah is editor and owner of the online magazine deepcreektimes.com, which she has been publishing this past decade.

We welcome Sarah to the position of Managing Editor and co-owner of the magazine. Her expertise, especially with digital publishing and online marketing, fit right in with our mission here at The Lake-Front. Sarah and I will be working as partners moving forward as we integrate our ideas and business models to continue providing our readers with the most up-to-date information as possible.

This also gives me time to pursue another passion of mine, working more closely with the House of Hope, a local charity that provides emergency short term help to Garrett County residents. I served on their Board of Directors for years and when the current directors decided to retire, I was honored to be asked to step in and help lead the organization forward. I will still be helping with the magazine and you can reach me by the same phone number and email; I’d love to hear from you.

I’m incredibly proud of this issue…we have so many original stories and informative features for our readers, and I’m so grateful for the support from our readers and advertisers as I’ve learned to navigate these past few years and continue forward without Skip.
