March is here and that means SPRING! Our winter was up and down but Wisp had a great season and snow lovers had plenty of opportunities to enjoy the season. Now it’s time to think ahead to warmer temperatures and making time to enjoy the slower pace of spring in Garrett County.

There are plenty of events slated for March & April and you can read more about them in our Calendar of Events beginning on Page 14. The first weekend of spring offers two stellar performances at the Performing Arts Center with GLAF’s next concert of the season on Friday, March 22 and a special Celtic Concert benefitting the Garrett Celtic Festival on Saturday, March 23. If you’ve not yet had an opportunity to attend an event at the PAC, you are missing a truly exceptional venue and wonderful addition to our community. Collen DuBose looks at two new business ventures in the county: The Market on 42 which features several small businesses next to the Railey Design Center. Read more about that exciting venture beginning on Page 6. He also had the privilege of sitting down with local power couple Jim and Shirley Bailey, new owners of The Stonecroft Manor. They shared some of the fascinating history of the property plus some of their many plans for the future. Check out their story on Page 26.
