November 2023 Issue

Dear Friends,

The year is fading fast but November still brings plenty of activities for the family to enjoy. This month, we feature several in the pages of this magazine including one of the area’s favorite: The Garrett County Festival of Trees. This event has something for young and old and benefits The Dove Center. Read more about the fun activities planned in our feature story beginning on Page 6. For even more happenings, check out our Calendar of Events on Page 18.

Our Unsung Hero for November is the incomparable Phyllis Trickett, a woman who has been advancing the cause of other women in Garrett County for generations. Read more about her and her accomplishments on Page 12. As always, you can read about the adventures of local Mike Fratz in Mike Drop beginning on Page 28, as well as a tribute to Tom and Sara Kuhn, two of my favorite people ever, and this year’s Honorary Golden Ambassadors. (See Story on Page 42)

Unfortunately, there were a couple of errors in last month’s issue. Our apologies to William Hentosh for the upside down photo, and to Mike Cumerlato. Mike is also a Yellowstone Log Home dealer for the area. Since November is a month of Thanksgiving, I wish to extend my gratitude and thanks to all of our readers, friends and advertisers. Even after 30+ years of publication, I am honored to be part of this amazing community. All of us at The Lake-Front wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving.

In gratitude,
Linda Carr, Editor
