HART for Animals has moved their thrift shop to Sand Flat Road Plaza, opening Thursday, July 2, 2020, as part of their ongoing fundraising goals. “Pick of the Litter” Thrift Shop is behind Shooters Bar & Grill, and carries items such as housewares, fashion and home accessories, pet accessories, baby and kidswear, and toys, gifts, furniture, and more.

“The money raised at the thrift shop is a tremendous opportunity for HART to continue to work towards our mission of helping save the lives of our animals in Garrett County,” says Mercedes Pellet, President of HART. “It helps support and sustain our adoption wing, and our rescue and transport programs.”

“The thrift shop is always in search of new or gently-used items,” says Paula Yudelevit, Executive Director of HART. The thrift shop accepts homewares, small appliances, fashion accessories and jewelry, baby items, pet toys and accessories, and sporting goods. Donations may be taken to the new location at 17869 Garrett Highway, Oakland, during thrift shop business hours, or the HART Animal Center during the week.
“Our volunteers and customers are going to love the open and airy feel to the new thrift shop,” Ms. Yudelevit says. “In addition to our home store items, our new boutique area features women’s shoes, accessories, and some designer and never-worn clothing.”

Those interested in volunteering or general information may visit HART’s website at www.hartforanimals.org, or call 240. 442.5370.
