Since its inception in 2001, Studio 24E has been more than just an art studio – it’s a labor of love born from a desire to create a space where art, culture, and community intersect. Founded by Greg Elliott and Nina Tate-Elliott, Studio 24E began as an idea to showcase a unique collection of bespoke pieces, art, and custom framing in a comfortable and approachable environment.

Greg and Nina’s journey in retail started with a strong emphasis on customer service and design, honed through years of experience at Nordstrom. Inspired by their time at Nordstrom, where customer service reigns supreme, they set out to create a space that offered beautiful and unique pieces and provided unparalleled service and attention to detail.

The first iteration of Studio 24E was housed in a quaint white cape cod building in Linthicum, Maryland. Here, the foundation was laid for the studio’s signature custom framing services and the loyal following that would continue to support them throughout their journey. As the years passed, the studio expanded its offerings to include jewelry, home décor, and more, reflecting Greg and Nina’s evolving vision for the space.
In 2005, Studio 24E embarked on a new chapter, relocating to the mountains of Maryland and West Virginia. Settling in the small town of Oakland, Maryland, with their home base in Terra Alta, West Virginia, the studio found a new sense of inspiration in the relaxed atmosphere of small-town living. With two locations – one in Downtown Oakland and another at the Wisp Resort at Deep Creek Lake – Studio 24E became a beloved fixture in the community.

After about seven years, Greg and Nina made the decision to move back east. After years of city life, the mountains and small-town living began calling again, which guided them to Thurmont, Maryland. “We were missing the sense of community connection and giving back when being involved with The Dove Center and HART for the Animals while in Garrett County. Thurmont gives us the small-town experience, plus Cuddles Cat Rescue is four doors up from us on Main St. – what more could we want?,” the couple shared during a recent phone call.

Studio 24E continues to evolve today, offering a well-edited assortment of jewelry, clothing, contemporary art, home accessories, and independent labels from the U.S. and abroad.
What sets Studio 24E apart is its dedication to providing a diverse and eclectic selection of products that cater to every taste and style. From well-known brands like Charriol, Simply Southern, and Michael Kors to small independent favorites like Puppie Love and Tussie Mussies, Studio 24E offers a carefully curated collection that appeals to a wide range of customers.

But Studio 24E isn’t just a place to shop – it’s a destination for creativity and self-expression. With a background in custom picture framing and wedding and event makeup services, Greg and Nina have infused Studio 24E with their passion for craftsmanship and attention to detail. Whether you’re in need of a unique gift, special event make-up services, or a beautifully crafted frame, Studio 24E has you covered.

As you browse the shelves of Studio 24E, you’ll find everything from Christmas ornaments and skincare products to home fragrance items and jewelry. It’s a treasure trove of unexpected delights, where every visit promises a new discovery.

But perhaps the most remarkable thing about Studio 24E is the sense of community it fosters. With its warm and welcoming atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, and commitment to customer service, Studio 24E is more than just a store – it’s a place where connections are made, memories are created, and creativity thrives.
So, whether you’re searching for the perfect gift, looking to indulge in a little retail therapy, or simply seeking inspiration, make sure to visit in-store or online. When you’re heading east from Garrett County, Studio 24E is conveniently located in Downtown Thurmont, just north of Frederick.
