Town of Accident Homecoming — Accident’s annual July 4th homecoming will be held on Saturday, July 3 due to the 4th falling on a Sunday this year.  Parade starts at 11 AM with food, crafts, activities at the Fire Hall after the parade.  Wear your best patriotic attire and come celebrate with us.

Movie in the Park — Friendsville Community Park, 9 – 11 PM.  Join us for a night of fun while we watch “The Tale of Despereaux”, a family-friendly film about a heroic mouse and his epic adventures!  Please be sure to bring a blanket or chairs to sit on.  (Rated G).  No admission charge.

Fire on the Mountain Fireworks Display — McHenry Cove, dusk.    Fireworks launched from the top of the tubing hill at the Mountain Park at Wisp Resort out toward the waters of Deep Creek Lake.  Viewing spots include the scenic overlook on Rt. 219, McHenry Cove on Deep Creek Lake and businesses in McHenry.  Rain date is July 5th.  If there is inclement weather on July 4th, please check https://visitdeepcreek.com or tune your radio to local stations for live updates.

Spruce Forest Guest Artists (July) – Peggy Nixon, slate painting and illustration.  Hostetler House.

Her art process today includes, Watercolor, Pen and Ink, Nature Illustrations, with a delightful, sometimes, whimsical appeal. She will have Original watercolor paintings, prints, and her sweet collection of note cards available for sale and display. Having majored in Illustration at the Maryland Institute of Art, her dream has been to Illustrate Books, Calendars, Greeting Cards, etc, and she is moving forward in this beautiful time of transitioning to fulfill this dream!
