Deep Creek Lake has become known as one of the premium outdoor recreation spots in the Mid-Atlantic. Whether it’s hiking, skiing, or kayaking, you will need the right equipment and apparel to prepare you for the great outdoors — no matter what the season.

TruSouth Apparel and DCL Outfitters, now open at the Market Square Plaza in McHenry, can help. Owners Tim and Missy Ingram are offering the latest in skis, snowboards, apparel, accessories and more … all brand names you know and trust.

Originally from Bridgeport, WV, Tim and his family grew up participating in extreme sports. The Ingrams have owned a landscaping and snow removal business in Bridgeport for the past 22 years and in 2010 opened a small outfitters shop in Bridgeport selling top line ski and snowboarding equipment as well as camping gear, kayaks and much more. The shop became so successful, they needed a larger space, and opened a shop in Meadowbrook Mall in 2010 called Xtreme Sports, which remains a top retail spot in the Bridgeport area today.

The Ingrams also love the beach and in their travels throughout the southeast, they saw wonderful southern themed lifestyle apparel and realized that there was nothing like it in our area. They contracted with several of the popular lines and in May of 2017 opened a second location at Meadowbrook Mall featuring this unique apparel and accessories called TruSouth. This shop’s popularity grew quickly and Tim and Missy began looking for other ways to grow their business.

Tim had been skiing at Wisp for over 30 years and felt this was the perfect place to expand. The shop at Market Square combines the best of both of his existing businesses. “TruSouth / DCL Outfitters is the best of both our stores,” says Tim. “We wanted to create a shop that offered outdoor recreation products and lifestyle apparel, whether you’re big into outdoor adventures or just want a cool and unique t-shirt to bring home from your vacation to Deep Creek Lake. Anyone who loves the outdoors will find something they need and love here.”

As in their other stores, the Ingrams sell only top name brands, gear that their customers know and love. Inventory today includes popular outdoor recreation brands like Spyder, O’Neill, Kavu, Columbia, K2, Ride, Burton, Black Strap and more. While the shop is full of great winter apparel and accessories now, come spring, the Ingrams will be stocking brand name kayaks from Feel Free Kayaks, 3 Waters Kayaks and many others.
Their popular lifestyle brands and southern inspired apparel include products from Oakley, Costa, Yeti, Simply Southern, Southern Marsh, Southern Tide, Jadelynn Brooke, Ivory Ella, Lauren James, Salt Life Sperry, Chaco, Rainbow, Sanuk, Southern Couture and more.

TruSouth / DCL Outfitters opened in early November and the couple is pleased with the response. “The people in the area have been great,” says Tim. “They are so nice and accommodating. We hope to be here for many years.”

The shop is conveniently located between Shop ‘n’ Save and Deep Creek Fitness and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM. The store is closed on Monday. Plans are in the works for a Grand Opening Celebration. For updates on the newest offerings, checking them out on Facebook at TruSouth/DCL Outfitters and on Instagram at trusouthmd
