2020 Habitat for Humanity Women Build — Garrett College Career Technology Training Center, Accident, 8:30 AM. We will be building the walls for our new home that will be in Grantsville, MD. The Habitat for Humanity Hospitality committee will be serving a free lunch around noon to volunteers. Desserts will also be available free of charge by Kate’s Konfections. Lowe’s is a National co-sponsor of National Women Build Week, and it is one of the major initiatives. Habitat’s Women Build program recruits, educates and inspires women to build and advocate for simple, decent, affordable housing in their communities. Black Strap Rail Jam Series #3 — Wisp Resort. Details at www.wispresort.com. Located in Central Park this rail jam is open to both skiers and riders. This year’s competitions will be set and judged as a points series. Individuals have the opportunity to score up to ten points for each event. The overall points leader after the finals will be awarded the grand prize and deemed the Series Champion.

Governor’s Cup Race –This is a Deep Creek Winter Sports Team sponsored two day event. Top ski finishers will be determined by combined score of 4 runs. Get to Know Mary Elizabeth Garrett with AAUW-Garrett Branch — The Greene Turtle, 5:30 to 8 PM. John Garrett family expert Bernadette Low will speak about the life and work of Mary Elizabeth Garrett, daughter of John W. Garrett, namesake of Garrett County, and a strong, effective advocate for women throughout her life. Bernadette, who is a member of the AAUW – Harford County Branch will share with us information on Mary Elizabeth’s life, her accomplishments, and her relationship with the rest of the Garrett Family.
