Open Mic Night — Our Town Theatre will host an open mic night every third Thursday of the month beginning at 7 PM. This is open for any performances, including singing, readings, monologues, etc. For more information, call 301-334-5640 or visit www.ourtowntheatre.org.

Thursday – Sunday, June 20-22
WGW Community Youth Cup — Deep Creek Greene Turtle, Lodestone, Oakland Golf Club. Over the past seven years, this event has raised over $650,000 in contributions to over 75 area youth organizations and charities. The weekend begins with a kick-off celebration at the Greene Turtle on Thursday, June 20th at 6:30 PM and will feature an evening of fun and entertainment. The Premiere Golf Event will be held on Friday, June 21st at Lodestone Golf Club and a 5K Walk/Run will be held on Saturday, June 22nd at Oakland Golf Club followed by a Community Youth Cup. Garrett County Gran Fondo Bike Ride 2019 — Garrett County and the Deep Creek Lake area boast some of the finest and most challenging cycling in North America, and the Garrett County Gran Fondo has established itself as a premier event unsurpassed in challenge, scenery, and riding quality. There are several rides to choose from. Pre-register online at www.garrettcountygranfondo.org.

19th Annual Secret Country Gardens Tour — Various Locations, 10 AM to 4 PM. Sponsored by the Mountain Laurel Garden Club. Rain or shine, no pets. The tour includes four residential gardens (two in McHerny and two on the shores of Deep Creek Lake) plus activities related to an historic farm theme at Sang Run State Park. Bluegrass / Gospel Music Fest — Grantsville Park, 11 AM to 5 PM. Sponsored by the Mt. Beulah Restoration Association. There will be six bands playing music all day including the Casselman Valley Travelers, Broken Glass and Rusty Hinges, Durst Brothers Band, Loretta Hummel and Country Grass, Second Wind and Old Time Wasters. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the day. Food and baked goods available. Silent Auction to raise funds for historic Mt. Beulah Church Restoration. No charge for admission.

Monday – Thursday, June 24 – 27
Farm Camp 2019 (ages 13 – 16) — BackBone Farm, Oakland, MD, 10 AM to 4:30 PM. All Earth Eco Tours hosts an on-the-farm, summer day camp for kids ages 13 – 16. Day campers will experience the wonders of nature through farming, fun and artistic expression and will get their hands dirty as they learn what it’s like to be an organic farmer. Youth will have fun and learn about growing vegetables, sustainable agriculture, the benefits of humane livestock management, basic survival skills, and basic animal husbandry. Wednesday, June 26
Photography at the Lavender Farm — Deep Creek Lavender Farm, 5 – 9 PM. An evening for photography and local lavender. Jessica Fike will present “Basic & Creative Composition in Photography” in a classroom setting and then share actual shooting instruction in the lavender fields with models. Dinner will be included, along with lavender lemonade made specially by farm owner, Anne Davidson. Because we will be shooting outdoors, a rain date of June 27 will be used. United States Air Force Airmen of Note — Garrett College CARC Gymnasium, 6 PM. The Airmen of Note is the premier jazz ensemble of the United States Air Force.
