Local builder and entrepreneur Glen Maust had dreamt of owning his own bakery/deli for several years now. Last year several factors came together to help make that dream a reality, and he, along with wife Rachel and daughter Jennifer, opened The Rolling Pin Bakery & Deli last October. This charming bakery located in Accident has been popular since opening day.

The first step was finding the right location, so when the old bakery building in Accident became available for sale, Glen knew he could renovate and update it to take advantage of their great location right along Rt. 219. The second step was finding the right staff, especially someone to create yummy treats for all to enjoy. When former Casselman baker Shelly Bender agreed to manage the bakery end of the business, Glen knew he had a winner.

Shelly and her staff knows just how to satisfy your sweet tooth and they bake homemade goodies fresh every day. The Rolling Pin has fresh, homemade breads, cookies, muffins, whoopie pies, and other “staples” of the baked goods world. The most popular are their donuts, made hot and fresh every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, they make their other specialty, unbelievably yummy cinnamon rolls.
The Rolling Pin even has you covered on holidays. They bake specialty seasonal breads, holiday cookies, and they always have pumpkin rolls along with delicious seasonal and fruit pies.

If you need a little less sweetness, don’t worry! They now have diabetic options including their signature cinnamon rolls. If you have a special order for a birthday or other special event, The Rolling Pin takes call-in specialty orders. Pies, cookies, donuts and more…the staff just asks that they are given 24-48 hour notice.
Their excellence doesn’t stop there. They also have delicious items for breakfast and lunch. They sell meat and cheese by the pound and create custom sandwiches where they allow customers to choose their meat, cheese, toppings, and sauce, all on your choice of bread, including their delicious homemade white and wheat bread.

The Rolling Pin is a delicious alternative for a healthy and fast lunch. They serve hot paninis (including a breakfast option), panini wraps, cold wraps, and various deli salads, all made fresh daily. Check out their Facebook page for weekly specials, anything from homemade macaroni and cheese to hot ham and cheese wraps. They also carry homemade soups in the winter. Customers are able to call in their lunch orders ahead of time, so if you’re on the go, they will have it ready!

They always have fresh coffee and iced coffee for a morning boost! Customers will also find homemade jellies, jams, and sauces on the shelves. Did we mention they have a new soft serve ice cream machine — a perfect treat for these hot summer days.

The Rolling Pin is open Tuesday through Friday from 6:30am-6:00pm and from 7:00am-2:00pm on Saturdays. Outside seating is now available so you can sit and linger for a while.
